Now you can explore the mysteries of the universe from the comfort of your bed thanks to this orrery-esque ceiling light. The planets orbit around the “sun” and the included CD takes you on an audio tour of the solar system. There is even a remote control with a built-in laser pointer for highlighting objects and simulating comets and meteors. An additional image is available after the break.

We have one of these. Our 7-year-old loves it. I should point out that we lost a part to it – the plastic ring that adapts the device to the ceiling – during a move, and the manufacturer was easy to contact and only too happy to send me a replacement free of charge. They even paid the postage. You seldom see that level of customer service these days, and accordingly I commend this company and their product.

PS – Saturn’s rings are present in the product – a cardboard piece that settles over the “ball” of Saturn – but are not shown here.

Can you please let me know where I can shop for this ceiling light? My son, 4 years old, knows all the basic stuff about solar system and will do anything to be an astronaut. I would like to buy this and gift him for his room. Thanks.
