Samsung has announced a 4GB flash drive specifically designed for the upcoming Vista OS.
The drive takes advantage of Window’s Ready Boost, which allows for the use of solid state memory to increase performance. In other words, by loading frequently used applications onto the flash drive, users can make Vista “lighting fast.”
Keep in mind that any flash drive can take advantage of Ready Boost, but chances are Samsung will optimize the drive for maximum performance.
The drives are expected to become available around the time that Vista launches early next year, but no pricing information has been released as of yet. However, rumors have been circulating that place the drives at or below $200.
