This replica of Robby the Robot from the 1956 film “Forbidden Planet” stands 7 feet tall and was created using the same blueprints, molds, and templates as the original costume. The replica is manufactured by Fred Barton, who restored the original robot after its sale to a Southern California prop museum in 1970. The robot can move his computer relay assembly, rotate his servo-controlled head, spin his planetary gyro stabilizers, and rotate his scanners while his various lights flash. As if that wasn’t enough, it also has an integral audio system pre-programmed to deliver his famous lines from the original movie. A remote control also allows you to adjust the robot’s volume, track selection, and start and stop functions.
