Adobe has officially announced plans to make the beta version of Photoshop CS3 available to customers using valid copies of Photoshop CS2, Adobe Creative Suite 2.x Standard or Premium, Adobe Production Studio Standard or Premium, Adobe Video Bundle, or the Adobe Web bundle. If this does not apply to you, the download will installed as a two day demo.

The download is available for both Windows (including Vista) and Mac users, but if you happen to be running an Intel Mac or thinking about making the upgrade, chances are you have been waiting for the Intel native CS3 for quite some time.

Naturally, there are a ton of new features available in CS3 including non-destructive Smart Filters, a Quick Selection brush that improves upon the Magic Wand and Lasso tools, Refine Edge pallete, automatic layer alignment and blending, and Vanishing Point with multiple, adjustable-angle perspective planes.

The download will also include a pre-release of Adobe’s media manager, Bridge, Camera Raw, and a preview of Adobe Device Central.

The Adobe Photoshop CS3 beta will be available on the Adobe Labs website sometime this afternoon.

For a sneek peak at CS3 check out Arstechnica and Macworld.
