Bluetooth Watch - Cool Idea but Very Limited

Manufacturers have been trying to implement more and more digital features in watches for a while, Remember the calculator watches? The Sony MBW-10, made by Fossil, looks to add some very simple functionality to cellphones, but comes up a bit short.

The idea is to use the bluetooth to show you caller ID and name, if available, are displayed. That’s nice. But it only works with the Sony Ericsson phones at this point.

The watch is nice looking, but all the added functionality makes for a very large accessory on your wrist. It is also nice that you can pause your Sony Walkman player, and skip tracks using the watch as well. But that is the extent of its integration with the player.

I do like the idea of the watch, leave the phone in your pocket and use the watch and a bluetooth headset for hands free use. A little more miniaturization and ability to work with a broad range of phones will be needed before it can even be considered. But they are on the right track, done right I would be very interested.
