SlingCatcher

The same guys that brought you the popular SlingBox line have unveiled a new product at CES today called the SlingCatcher that will stream anything on your PC’s desktop (especially videos) to your TV across the internet. It will also work with a regular Slingbox to send TV or DVR content from one TV to another.

Other features include HDMI, S-Video and component connectors along with WiFi and Ethernet connectivity.

An optional hard drive add on that will allow users to store content from the Sling website along with a feature called Clip+Sling for clip viewing and sharing on the Sling site is also planned.

Unlike Apple’s upcoming iTV, the SlingCatcher has no restrictions on what content is being streamed or where the content came from. If it’s on your computer it will be playable on your TV. And if that wasn’t enough, the SlingCatcher it is about $100 cheaper than the iTV. So the question is, is the SlingCatcher already an iTV killer?
