CinemaNow Has Download and Burn Service Running Already

Word yesterday was that MovieLink was going to offer a service for consumers to download and burn their own DVD’s. However, CinemaNow has started a similar service this past Wednesday. Just a couple comments to make on this whole process.

Number one, it takes 2-5 hours to burn a DVD is what they are saying. Ok, you can start it at breakfast and it should be done between lunchtime and early afternoon. Not a huge deal. Number two, they are only offering 100 older movies initially. I am not sure how they are going to gauge the success of this based on such a small sample. I guess if one of those 100 movies happens to be on your list of favorites that is fine, but odds are most people will not be interested in any of them. Maybe buy one just to see how the whole process works. Sounds like this could be the near term future for getting movies that can be burned, but lets see if the movie studios are ready to put their entire catalog on the service before we decide that they are serious about this.
