Sometime in early 2007, consumers are going to be able to do something that we have been promised for awhile now. We are going to be able to talk to our appliances.
Thanks to Daewoo we can now command our microwave to cook something and have it respond with the correct time and temperature. The device stores up to 40 verbal commands and can be controlled by anyone who talks to it (95% accurate).
Undoubtedly this is only the tip of the iceberg. Who knows, sometime in the near future we could be able to have deep intellectual conversations with a waffle iron or a washing machine.
