Enter To Win An Evolution Pro 130mW Green Laser Pointer From Wicked Lasers!

You have probably come to know Wicked Lasers as the manufacturer behind some of the world’s most powerful consumer laser technology. I’ve had the privilege of testing several of their products over the years, but this time the focus is on the 130mW Evolution Pro green laser.

And the best part is that I’m giving it away to a lucky Nerd Approved reader!

First off, let me explain that lasers like this are absolutely not for pointing at people, planes, etc. Police tend to frown upon that sort of thing. In fact, I’m quite certain that if you used it during a presentation you run the risk of blinding your co-workers—and that shit doesn’t go over well either.

That having been said, I recommend wearing protective goggles while using the laser—which is why I will be sending the contest winner a pair.

As you can see from the images above, this laser has only one real purpose—impressing other nerds. And if that’s your goal, the Evolution Pro will do the job. Although, with a price tag of $417 ($457 with the shades), you have to be seriously committed to having the coolest toys on the block in order to buy this.

The beam isn’t super-wide, but as you can see in the images above, it is clearly visible—even when there is ambient light. It’s also powerful enough to hit objects hundreds of yards away, pop balloons, char paper, etc.

According to the product page, a fresh pair of AA batteries will give you around 3 hours of use. I didn’t use it for that long, so I can’t confirm that claim, but you probably want to go with rechargeables on this. Overall, the lifespan of the device is said to be around 5,000 hours.

So how can I win this impractical yet awesome device?

If you have entered a Nerd Approved contest before, you know the drill. There are three options: leave a comment on our Facebook page in the contest thread, tweet this post or send an email to contests@nerdapproved.com with “This Laser is Wicked” in the subject line.

The contest is open to US residents aged 18 and over. The final day to enter is Monday, May 17th—a winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

And make sure to check out Wicked Lasers for more…well, wicked lasers.
