Sharpening a stick and sticking a hot dog on it to cook over an outdoor fire is an old fashioned way to cook outdoors. Get yourself a Firefork and that dog will never have to touch a stick. If keeping things sanitary in the outdoors is a requirement for you, maybe you should look into one.
