Gibson HD6X Pro

Gibson understands that the move from analog to digital instruments is going to be the next big thing – that is why they were the first to the market with the HD 6X Pro.

First and foremost, the guitar is a traditional Les Paul design, so you know that a you are going to get a quality sound from the instrument itself. Second, the pickups feature Gibson’s new ‘Hex’ system technology that uses 6 small humbuckers that send individual signals to studio-grade preamps so that they can be converted from analog to digital. From there, the signal is sent to the HD 6X Pro’s BoB (Breakout Box) – a device that “routes the signal to different destinations, automatically detecting which outputs have been connected and designated.” At that point, the BoB can be connected to a multi-channel sound card and music can be recorded via the included Cakewalk SONAR software.

The HD 6X Pro also features a “Classic Mode Output” where users can plug the guitar into a normal amp and play like any traditional Les Paul.

The Gibson HD 6X Pro retails for $5000.
