The folks at AskJeeves have ditched the butler and reinvented themselves as Ask.com.
The new Ask.com interface features a slick, new, do-it yourself toolbar that allows users to get what they want in fewer clicks than rival engines like Google and Yahoo!
“Other engines just do 10 blue links and ads around them. We have really gone a lot further,” Jim Lanzone, general manager of Ask.com, said in an interview.
“Users are going to experience a search engine that does more for them faster than any other search engine they use.”
The changes at Ask.com are certainly for the better and if enough people are able to tear themselves away from Google to give the updated engine a try, they might finally build themselves a loyal following.
