The folks over at TechCrunch claim that a “very good source” has revealed that Google is in the final stages of acquiring YouTube for around $1.6 billion.
Keep in mind that this is nothing more than a rumor at this point.
Still, you know that Google has probably thought about it. After all, Google Video hasn’t really gained much ground against YouTube since it’s launch.
Mark Cuban recently noted that “only a moron would buy YouTube” because copyright violations will inevitably result in a storm of lawsuits. Could Google be that moron? We will have to wait and see.
