Cool idea. I4U has an article about a wristwatch and inline skate wheel that are used to be able to monitor your speed while skating.
The electronic speedomoter wheel replaces one of your skate’s existing wheels to measure your distance in miles or kilometers and mph while continually sending the data to the watch.
I am trying to decide whether the ability to monitor your speed and distance is a good idea, or whether you will be disappointed in your actual performance. In any case I would like to get one just to see what my actual speed is when I am cruising along. Available from Hammacher Schlemmer for $139.95 (ouch).
