IE 7

The first public release candidate for Internet Explorer 7 has been released just days after the release of Vista RC1 and the Firefox 2.0 Beta 2 browser.

According to the IEBlog, “The RC1 build includes improvements in performance, stability, security, and application compatibility. You may not notice many visible changes from the Beta 3 release, all we did was listen to your feedback, fix bugs that you reported, and make final adjustments to our CSS support.”

The two major changes include a downloading system that automatically detects and replaces previous beta versions of IE7 and automatic detection of add-ons with stability or compatibility problems.

Microsoft may or may not develop RC2 depending on user feedback. The team is on schedule to release a final version in Q4 of 2006.
