The NYC department of transportation has developed the Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) to help commuters get the jump on traffic in the city.
In order to do this, the DOT has set up 10 cameras that provide live streaming video from key traffic points located around the city along with an additional 35 cameras that provide continuous still images.
For those of us who do not live in NYC, the cameras provide hours of voyeuristic entertainment.
