Windows VistaDespite numerous articles to the contrary, Microsoft has announced that the first month sales of Vista have been a success – reaching 20 million units. For those of you who are counting, that is double the sales XP had in its debut.

These figures include Vista licenses sold to PC manufacturers, upgrades, and full retail versions.

We are encouraged to see such a positive consumer response to Windows Vista right out of the gate,” said Bill Veghte, corporate vice president of the Windows Business Group at Microsoft. “While it’s very early in the product lifecycle, we are setting a foundation for Windows Vista to become the fastest-adopted version of Windows ever.

If you are wondering whether we are entering into bizzaro world here or something, take note that according to ArsTechnica, this sales boost is most likely due to PC market growth.
