If you ever wake up in the morning after a night of binge drinking looking like the dude pictured here, you need to do two things right away: go to the nearest AA meeting and sign up for some tattoo removal. Fortunately, science has made the part about getting rid of the tats a lot easier.
Normal tattoo removal can take up to 12 sessions under a laser at a cost of $5000 - and there is no guarantee that the procedure won’t result in some ugly scarring. Using ink from a company called Freedom-2, the procedure can be reduced to one simple treatment at a cost of under $1,000.
The ink is encapsulated in tiny beads made of polymethylmethacrylate, a synthetic material commonly used in surgical glue that will disintegrate when exposed to a laser. Surprisingly, using the ink should only add about $50 to the cost of an average tattoo.
Freedom-2 say that the goal with this product is to help people who end up regretting their tattoos. However, many believe that it will open up a new market for tattoos to those who want to decorate their bodies without a permanent commitment.
So go ahead! Get that tattoo of Chewbacca on your ass - it’s removable!
