You don’t see this everyday.
The update for Office for Macs that Microsoft had posted on their site was released by mistake. The explanation for the accidental update can be viewed on the Microsoft Security Response Center blog.
While it is nice of Microsoft to fess up to the error, there is still the issue of removing the update. Unfortunately, there is no uninstall. Best way to go back is probably to revert to the files on your backup. You do have a backup right? I don’t either, so another option is to go back to the original install CD’s and copy the old files, then use the correct updates to get it current. Thanks, Microsoft.
