120 MPH Electric Car

It’s ugly as hell, but this electric car can go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and hit a top speed of 120mph – all in one gear.

And now it can be yours for the low, low, price of $108,000.

In addition to its combination of fuel economy and power, this electric car is only 39″ wide – about the same width as an average motorcycle. The interior features a cockpit like configuration with the driver sitting directly in front of the passenger. Both are secured with four point pilot seat belts and a chrome moly roll cage that meets Sports Car Club of America racing standards for safety. If that wasn’t enough, the body panels are made of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass, and its side impact bars offer four times the protection found in typical SUVs.

Apparently, the lead-acid batteries that act as the car’s power source can recharge using any service up to 50 amps, providing enough power for a range of 40-80 miles.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for finding eco-friendly alternatives to gasoline, but I would rather pay high prices at the pump than look like a complete tool blazing down the road in this thing.

The 120mph electric car is available now at Hammacher Schlemmer.
