Repairing Vista that Won’t Boot

I haven’t run into the issue of loading an application of Vista which causes it to be unable to boot afterward (yet), but I am sure this will come in handy sooner or later. The folks over at i4u obviously did have it happen and found a simple way to fix it.

If you found you cannot get Vista to boot, or it freezes on booting, boot to your Vista DVD like you were gonig to install it. Click on the Install Windows button, but DO NOT CLICK ON “INSTALL WINDOWS NOW” ON THE NEXT SCREEN. It will do exactly what it says and you will lose everything. Click on the Repair Computer link in the corner of the window instead. Choose your OS and  and System Restore. Choose a Restore Point before you installed the application, and let it go. Your system should be bootable after that.
