AppleAn Independent security researcher named Tom Ferris has discovered a sizeable amount of OSX bugs that have been deemed “highly critical” by the SANS Institute’s Internet Storm Center.

Apple has been made aware of the bugs and plans are currently in development to fix them via their next security update.

PC World notes that Mac OSX has long been considered to be more secure than Microsoft’s OS but that it has “increasingly been the focus of researchers like Ferris.”

The reality is that OSX is more secure because less hackers have chosen to exploit it. With Windows running on the vast majority of computers out there, it is no wonder that everybody and their mother is trying to poke holes in it.

In all likelyhood, the increased popularity of the Mac platform will make it much more vulnerable in the future to malicious attacks.
