Bush takes a spill

Segway has announced a recall for their PT i Series, e Series, p Series, XT, GT and i2 models because of a problem that could make for a difficult experience. They say that the unit can have an “unexpected reversal of direction” that could cause the rider to be thrown.

The Segway Transporter was touted as so easy to ride you could not fall. It appears that is not the case, at least as long as the software has a bug. And I remember the Post Office was looking to use these, I wonder what ever happened to that? I know that shortly after being advocated for use in some cities, they were soon banned from the sidewalks in others. I guess one person’s convenience is another persons nuisance. The technology used is pretty cool, but in practical use there is not much to see here.

And what were the odds I was ever going to get to post that picture of the President trying one out?
