Yahoo Bookmarks (beta) is now new and improved to meet the ever changing needs of a more web savvy public. Picture Del.icio.us (which Yahoo also owns) with a much, much better interface.
Features:
- Advanced search functionality
- Thumbnails for quickly recognizing sites
- Convenient drag-and-drop management
- Organize bookmarks with folders and tags
- Ability to save page content along with the URL
- Editing abilities when saving
- An end to the 1000 bookmark limit
After working with Yahoo Bookmarks, I have to admit that it is pretty impressive. Importing your browser bookmarks is a smooth process, and saving your pages is quick and easy with a drag and drop browser bookmarklet.
According to the Yahoo Search Blog, Del.icio.us and the new Yahoo Bookmarks will remain two separate products – the former for social bookmarking and the latter for personal saving, organization, and recovery. Still, one is left to wonder whether or not Yahoo might be planning to phase out Del.icio.us. After all, the original Yahoo Bookmarks has over 20 million users while Del.icio.us’ has only grown to 1 million since the buyout.
