VistaI am sharing the news that Vista for Business and Office 2007 volume licenses are available as of today. Not sure how much this really helps since you will not be seeing retail versions for about 2 more months.

Microsoft says that the enhanced security and manageability are what will sell the upgrade. Whether the new features are better and more secure remains to be seen, but in any case I expect that businesses would be slow to make the transition. No business is going to jump right in without a lot of testing and planning. They may do some testing early on, but Microsoft has to know it is a long road to acceptance.

Consumers will be quicker on the uptake if only because they will buy new systems preloaded with it. Of course the consumer version will not be available until early next year. After all the delays, should we really care?

Check out Microsoft’s launch page here.
