Paul Thurrott, guru of all things Windows, recently wrote a surprisingly honest appraisal of Vista, calling it a “failure” and a “disappointment.”
I say “suprisingly honest,” because Thurrott lives and breathes Microsoft – which makes his assessment even more profound. However, he is quick to point out that his opinion is derived mostly from Microsoft’s failure to deliver on it’s promises for the new OS.
Thurrott writes:
“Windows Vista will do what so many other Windows releases have done, and simply offer consumers and business users a few major changes and many subtle or minor updates.”
Honestly though, this shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. Microsoft admittedly scaled back the original features of Vista and rumors have been swirling for some time now about problems in development. After all, the Vista launch has been delayed about a million times already.
