White Noise Lamp

The White noise lamp was designed by Shane Crozier and inspired by Alvar Aalto’s architectural work on the Paimio Sanatorium (and the accompanying chair design).

In keeping with that theme, the White Noise lamp is intended to soothe the elderly and mentally ill by introducing warm diffuse lighting and white noise to the sterile and unfamiliar surroundings of most medical institutions. In theory, this should help relax the patient.

This has got to be the first time I have ever been creeped out by a lamp.
