BBC Wants You To Keep Spoilers For The Doctor Who Season 7 Finale To Yourself, Will Reward Good Behavior

Some lucky Doctor Who fans who pre-ordered the season 7 DVDs received their shipments three weeks early. Oops. That means they know what happens in “The Name of the Doctor.” Steven Moffat has promised a big revelation in the episode, and BBC doesn’t want it spoiled.

BBC Worldwide made a statement about the error and is investigating why it happened:

“A small number of US Doctor Who fans have received their series seven part two DVD three weeks early,” BBC Worldwide said in a statement.

“We are asking fans who may have the discs not to divulge plot details so that fellow fans who have yet to see the episodes do not have their viewing pleasure ruined.”

If it’s not enough to be polite for the sake of being polite, they’re also offering a reward if the secret is kept safe and sound until the finale airs. Moffat promised there will be a special new video featuring Matt Smith and David Tennant together.

It’s likely that they planned to release this video anyway, but just in case—keep your traps shut, everybody! It’s what River Song and the BBC want.
