DC Reveals Pricing Strategy On Unprecedented Catalog Relaunch

As probably every comic fan on the planet has heard by now, DC is making the ballsy move of relaunching nearly every title in its catalog back to issue #1. They are also going to make digital titles available on the same day as print.

What we didn’t know however, is what the pricing structure would look like. Well, DC has unraveled that mystery by announcing that print titles and digital titles will both be the same price for a month after release. At that point, the digital versions will drop to $1.99. Oversized digital issues will start at $3.99 and drop to $2.99 after the same period.

You may also see some combo packs, as is the case with Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s Justice League #1. For $4.99 you’ll get both the print and the digital edition. Separately, the issues will cost you $3.99 each.

Again, this is a hugely ballsy move on DCs part—one that could potentially blow up in their face if they don’t deliver.
