This is truly the stuff of nerd dreams! Peter Jackson recently stated that he’d love to direct an episode of Doctor Who in New Zealand after Matt Smith brought up the idea. You’d think the odds of that actually happening would be slim, but now even more good news as Executive Producer Caro Skinner adds her two cents.
“It is beyond wonderful that Peter is a fan of the show and it’s beyond flattering that he’d even think about it. I’m absolutely sure that we couldn’t afford him but, you know, we can always negotiate. His enthusiasm is just fantastic of course.”
If it does happen, then it’ll be some time after the 50th Anniversary celebrations as they’ve already done about half the filming for series seven and plan to remain in Cardiff Bay rather than jaunting off to New Zealand. Let’s hope the timing and money come together and we get what is sure to be a brilliant episode.
