It’s an inevitably that HBO’s Game of Thrones is going to catch up the existing books of A Song of Ice and Fire. George R.R. Martin just isn’t writing fast enough. I admit that it’s frustrating to think the books may never get a proper ending, but I try to respect the author.
The pressure has to weigh on him though, and he probably hears about it all the time. But to people who speculate about his health and death? George R.R. Martin has some choice words. He told Swiss daily newspaper Tages-Anzeiger his feelings about folks who worry that he will die before the books are complete:
“I find that question, you know, pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health. So f**k you to those people.”
This was accompanied by an appropriate hand gesture.
Fair enough, Mr. Martin, fair enough.
