The Golden Ratio, or Golden Section, is a mathematical ratio that appears often in nature and has been used frequently in design. This tool can help you identify the phenomenon. The Chicago-based design company Parsons & Charlesworth began their journey to invention by asking themselves “Is proportional perfection really found in nature or just an abstraction defined by mathematicians and designers?”
Their answer was the Golden Section Finder—a thin, pocket-sized card that you can use to uncover perfect proportions in your environment. The finder comes in transparent blue or yellow and just from the few images to follow, I would be checking everything around me constantly. I only wish they made an app version.
