It’s official! According to the ultimate authority, Guinness World Records, Rancho Obi-Wan has the largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia in the world. Steve Sansweet owns the collection and it includes over 300,000 unique items. Yes, you have to see it to believe it. He’s been building the collection since before A New Hope even premiered, and it’s grown to the point that he’s put it on display in a 9,000 square-foot museum in Northern California. As far as I’m concerned, Rancho Obi-Wan is the happiest place on Earth.

My initial reaction to the news was a resounding “duh”. That’s not fair though. Sansweet and the Rancho Obi-Wan team put a ridiculous amount of work into the museum and preserving the collection. It’s a big deal that Guinness World Records visited the museum and certified the massive amount of memorabilia as the world’s largest. This will undoubtedly bring a huge amount of press to the non-profit organization along with new visitors.

You’ll be able to check out a two page spread in the just released Guinness World Records 2014, and if you’re interested in taking a tour of the collection, visit Rancho Obi-Wan online to learn how.
