Jenna Coleman May Be Moving On From “Doctor Who” This Christmas

Only a week before the season premiere of Doctor Who and rumors are swirling that Jenna-Louise Coleman will be exiting the show at Christmas after 18 months as a Companion. According to a source quoted in The Mirror:

“The conversations about Jenna’s exit have started, and a plan is in place which is being ironed out. By the time she leaves she will be one of the longest-standing companions ever. She has been absolutely brilliant in the role, but everyone agrees it is a part that should change after a period.”

The source also said that this is a mutual decision on the parts of all parties involved. A Christmas exit would have Coleman appearing in 25 episodes of the show which is more than fellow companions Catherine Tate and Freema Agyeman, and only a few less than Billie Piper.

Assuming that this is true (the timing seems right though The Mirror isn’t known for its accuracy), let the speculation begin as to who will be Capaldi’s new Companion!
