The whole fiction part of science fiction drives science types a bit nutty. Sure, there’s plenty of room for a movie like Prometheus to fudge a few details and make up their own science, but they’ve been called out by Neil deGrasse Tyson on Twitter for fudging science facts.
Snap. It’s one thing to be called out by random fanboys for some perceived error, but when it’s a guy like this, who’s like some kind of real-life Sheldon it’s an entirely different story (let’s not forget that James Cameron recently changed the night sky in Titanic based on Tyson’s observations). This should be a lesson to the studios to always have a brainiac check the script before a single frame is filmed.
