Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is coming to theaters in 2014, and it makes sense they want to amp up attention to the title before the release date. They’re starting this summer by bringing Brian Michael Bendis and Neil Gaiman on board for Guardians of the Galaxy #5 in July. The issue is a follow up to an epilogue Age of Ultron #10 that brings a character of Gaiman’s into the Marvel Universe: Angela from Spawn.
She’s essentially a bounty hunter working for Heaven, and she was a counter balance to Spawn. Joe Quesada, Marvel Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer, told the NY Times it’s been in the works for a while. It’s an interesting move and adding Gaiman to the roster (it’s unclear whether he’ll be writing just one issue or a series of them) will surely get the title noticed and garner some additional readers.
