Once upon a time an education blog mistook artist Aja Kusick’s painting of the Eiffel Tower for an actual Van Gogh. Realizing that the legendary impressionist likely never saw the iconic structure, Kusick decided to embark on a new series of works inspired by his style and starring additional subjects he never laid eyes on. You, on the other hand, are probably quite familiar with them.
The resulting “Van Gogh Never” series combines pop culture icons with fine art, placing (among others) Hogwarts, Charlie Brown and Snoopy, Stewie Griffin, and Futurama in a “Starry Night” landscape. Best of all, prints of the paintings are available to own via her Etsy shop.
