“Science Wide Open” Children’s Books Focus On Women In Science

One of the ways to increase the number of women in STEM fields is to foster interest in those fields at an early age. This Kickstarter project by Genius Games seeks to do just that with a new picture book series called Science Wide Open.

The 3-book set includes Women in Biology, Women in Physics, and Women in Chemistry. It highlights female scientists and their stories while teaching the basics of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

It features important female scientists both famous and obscure, including revolutionary cancer researcher Jane C. Cooke, the Newton-correcting Émilie du Châtelet, and element discoverer Dawn Shaughnessy. Learn more in the project video below.
