Some books are so special that you’re willing and happy to buy different editions, and the Harry Potter collection falls into that category. Scholastic andd Bloomsbury are releasing a deluxe hardcover version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on October 6, 2015, and guys, it’s illustrated! The book will feature full color art throughout and illustrated endpapers. Accio, fancy book!
Artist Jim Kay is tackling the illustrations, and four new images were just revealed. We saw Kay’s take on Harry and Hogwarts just over a year ago, and these new pieces feature Hermione, Ron, Draco, and Hagrid. Kay says:
“To be given the opportunity to design the characters, the clothing, the architecture and landscapes to possibly the most expansive fantasy world in children’s literature, well let’s just say I’m extremely excited about it. The story is everything, and so I want to bring what I can to really show the depth of Rowling’s stories, to their best.”
I love what he’s doing so far.
See Ron, Draco, and Hagrid after the break.
