I’m not sure how George Lucas and Disney’s lawyers will feel about all this, but artist James Hance has created some truly beautiful illustrations that mash up Winne the Pooh with Star Wars.

The cast includes Han Solo as Christopher Robin, Chewbacca as Pooh Bear, R2D2 as Piglet, and an AT-AT as Eeyore. Prints of the illustrations are available now for $10.

Considering that the illustrations pay far closer homage to EH Shepard’s original drawings, I’d say that Disney shouldn’t have anything to say about them (especially since they made such parodies of EH Shepard’s work). I think they’re beautiful and a loving tribute to both fictional works.

I read the headline, and wanted to hate this. I hate Winnie the Pooh, or at least all of the sad women in their 20s and 30s who insist on filling their homes and cars with the Disney crap. But these are great. Good work fella.
