When Star Wars: The Clone Wars came to an unexpected end last year, fans weren’t sure when and how we would be able to view mysterious “bonus content” promised by Lucasfilm. The show was created at a faster pace than it aired so even though season five was the last season on television, they had more stories in the works. We can finally breathe a sigh of relief though because Lucasfilm just announced there are 13 additional episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and that they will be available exclusively on Netflix on Friday, March 7. Yes, this is the first Star Wars content to appear on the streaming service.
The new material is being called “The Lost Missions” and is being referred to as the sixth season. According to the press release, the episodes will feature:
“…some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits, and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.”
Additionally, the director’s cut of seasons one through five of The Clone Wars will stream on Netflix. New episodes and additional content? I’ll call it a win.
