The iPad’s $500 price point is really good by Apple standards, but it’s still a chunk of change—especially in a tough economy. At least one Apple fanatic has resorted to building his own iPad out of felt to save money. Sure, it looks like it was designed by a drunk Matisse, but it does provide a soft haptic feedback that original iPad simply lacks.
