The world of Game of Thrones may be one of fantasy, but it does abide by its own internal set of rules as established by author George R.R. Martin. PhD Biologist Joe Hanson, host of the It’s Okay To Be Smart YouTube channel, takes a stab at explaining how things work in Westeros by applying the science that we know and accept from the real world. Hanson tackles everything from the weird seasons to the development of the continents to the origins of Valyrian steel and somehow makes real science work for planet Hodor. Yeah, he named it Hodor.
