This Guy Is Trying To Own Every VHS Copy Of “Speed” In Existence

One man’s attempt to own every VHS copy of Speed that currently exists has turned into The World Speed Project. The idea was born out of something called the The Jerry Collection in which a guy in LA tried to own every VHS copy of Jerry Maguire.

I don’t want to spend money on this. If a copy’s more than $4, I’ll just steal it. But that’s not going to make me stop. That’d be the same as somebody saying like, “It’s impossible to make the world a good place, so I’m not going to try.” If the idea is awesome, I’m just going to devote myself to it regardless.

The man behind this, Ryan Beitz, already has 550 copies of the movie, many of which he’s storing in a van he plans to turn into a replica of the bus. If you’re so inclined, you can even send your copy of Speed to Beitz and help him with his mission.

See another picture after the break…
