Lotus is known for their sports cars, but soon they may also be known for their motorcycles. They’ve recently announced their first bike model, the Lotus C-01. If you think the sleek cycles look like something you saw in Tron, you’re on the right track. Daniel Simon, designer for Tron: Legacy, worked with Lotus to create the prototype. I can definitely see similarities to the lightcycles in the shapes and lines of the C-01. Here’s what Simon had to say about the C-01:
“The design process of the C-01 was a labour of love – there were many challenges – ensuring that the bike not only touches your visual senses with its timeless blend of classic appeal and modern execution, but that is safe and ergonomically sound was critical to me. We have worked hard to create a motorcycle with very distinctive features such as a clean main body, an extremely low side profile, a bold stance, a unique air intake, logical partline solutions and clean graphics.”
There will only be 100 units of the C-01 available. I don’t want to even imagine what the price tag will be; a lightcycle might be cheaper.
