Who the hell are Dr. James Watson and Francis Crick? Well, they happen to be the duo responsible for discovering the structure of DNA. Maurice Wilkins also received a Nobel Prize that year (1962) for his work with DNA, but apparently he is not worthy of bobblehead immortality. Crick is pictured after the break.

I think these are meant as a joke… Watson & Crick pretty much stole the work from Rosalind Franklin, who did all the primary research and took the pictures (and subsequently was exposed to so much radiation she died of ovarian cancer at 37) and then rushed to publish it before she could (her papers were submitted first and published 3rd).

You’d have to be a pretty big science geek to get the joke or care, but… yeah… I think it’s supposed to be kind of an F U to those guys.
