You Know The World Is Weird When Rush Limbaugh Uses Stolen D&D Art In His Newsletter

I never thought I’d be using Rush Limbaugh and Dungeons and Dragons in the same sentence (heck, in the same anything), but here we are. It’s a bizarre world.

Limbaugh sent out a newsletter to subscribers recently, and the cover featured him taking down a fearsome looking creature. That’s weird, but it’s even weirder that the image looks almost exactly like one of the “Nightmare Beast” from the 2002 Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition Monster Manual. What a coincidence. The plot thickens when you learn that Christopher Hiers is credited for Limbaugh’s newsletter version, and the image in the book is credited to Wayne Reynolds.

Huh. Hiers hasn’t said anything yet but when the faux pas was pointed out to Reynolds, he said the following:

“That’s a bad copy of an illustration I was never happy with in the first place. [Dungeons & Dragons publisher Wizards of the Coast’s] legal team might be interested in this one though!”
