As many fans know, Tim Burton was working as a Disney animator in the mid ’80s when he made a bizarre but lovable short film about a boy that brings his dog back from the dead. Disney execs were a little creeped out by the whole thing and ended up firing him as a result.
Needless to say, films like The Nightmare Before Christmas has changed Disney’s tune, and Burton was allowed to revisit the story for a new animated release. The images above and after the break are the first glimpses of what audiences can expect when the film is released on October 5th of 2012.
