Affleck Agrees “Daredevil” Was Bad, Hopes To Redeem Himself As Batman

In case you think he’s unaware, Ben Affleck knows just how much fans hated Daredevil and, according to a recent interview in Playboy, he regrets doing the movie, too.

The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got fucked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that’s part of the motivation to do Batman.

He also completely understands why everyone freaked out when they heard he landed the role, but is also confident that he’ll do it justice.

I understand I’m at a disadvantage with the internet. If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn’t think it was going to be good and that I can be good in it?

This could be a sort of redemption for Affleck, although he doesn’t see it in any way replacing or besting what we saw on screen from Christian Bale. He goes on to say that he’s seen what Zack Snyder has in store and that it offers a unique storyline with an older Batman who simply isn’t the same one we saw played by Bale.

The Man of Steel sequel doesn’t open until July 17, 2015 so we all have plenty of time to worry, and hopefully Affleck has plenty of time to perfect the part.
