Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome Has a Release Date, And It’s This Week!

It’s been seven days of good news for waiting fans: we get more Star Wars movies and we finally get to see Blood and Chrome. The Battlestar Galactica prequel has been in the works since 2010, but apparently Syfy’s Craig Engler wasn’t kidding around when he said we’d definitely see it.

Here’s the deal: Blood and Chrome will first be presented as a ten episode web series on Machinima; each webisode will be 7-12 minutes. The first episode premieres this Friday, 11/9, and the remaining episodes will air over the next four weeks. That’s mere days away, yay!

Then, in early 2013, a two hour Blood and Chrome movie will air on Syfy. It will be released to DVD shortly thereafter.

Syfy’s programming president Mark Stern says, ““With its top-notch storytelling, pulse-pounding action, and cutting-edge visual effects, Blood & Chrome is the perfect extension of the Battlestar Galactica universe.” I expected nothing less and while I’m bummed we’re not getting an entire TV series from it, I am happy we’re getting it in any form.

And we get a frakking fantastic new trailer! Watch it after the break.

Will you be tuning in?
